Our technology has outpaced our social development, and our ability to build the kinds of social and cultural structures around the new technology that tend to temper and channel its use. I think we can more self-consciously, together, come up with some frameworks that will help make these new technologies much more palatable, make their downs not as deep, and maybe their ups a little higher.
